Arboretum Committee

Current Openings

One (1) term is open on the Arboretum Committee. The Committee holds terms of three years with an expiration of October 13, 2025.

Responsibilities

The Committee meets monthly in the afternoon or as needed at the Civic Center. The Committee’s purpose is to oversee and advance the development and utilization of an approximately 25-acre parcel permanent public arboretum park primarily accessed at the easterly edge of 18 Mile Road, bounded by Canal Road. In addition, the group will raise private funding to finance the development, all subject to the approval of the Township Board of Trustees. Members must be residents of the Township or representatives of a long-established organization or business within the Township.

Interested individuals and those seeking re-appointment must complete an Application for Appointment. A copy of the application can be obtained from the Supervisor’s Office. 

Applications received by the Township will be distributed to all board members after the deadline for posting has been met and will be included in the Board of Trustees agenda packet, which is publicly available.

All applicants will be invited to attend the Board of Trustees meeting on October 16, 2023, for an Introduction of Appointment Applicants. Appointments will be on the Board of Trustees agenda for the meeting on October 30.
