Arboretum Committee
Current Openings
One (1) term is open on the Arboretum Committee. The Committee holds terms of three years with an expiration of October 13, 2025.
Responsibilities
The Committee meets monthly in the afternoon or as needed at the Civic Center. The Committee’s purpose is to oversee and advance the development and utilization of an approximately 25-acre parcel permanent public arboretum park primarily accessed at the easterly edge of 18 Mile Road, bounded by Canal Road. In addition, the group will raise private funding to finance the development, all subject to the approval of the Township Board of Trustees. Members must be residents of the Township or representatives of a long-established organization or business within the Township.

Compensation Commission
Current Opening
One (1) partial term is up for an appointment on the Compensation Commission. This partial term expires on August 14, 2025.
Responsibilities
The Commission shall determine the salary of each Township elected official unless the Township Board, by resolution adopted by two-thirds of the members elected to and serving on the Board, rejects the determination. The Commission shall meet not more than fifteen session days in each odd number year.

Conservation Committee
Current Opening
One (1) term is up for an appointment on the Conservation Committee. The committee holds terms of two years with an expiration of June 30, 2025.
Responsibilities
The committee meets on the second Thursday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at the Clinton Township Civic Center. The purpose of the committee shall be to preserve and maintain in an undisturbed and natural condition the watercourses, wetlands, floodplains, wildlife, and other natural resources within the Township.

Cultural Diversity Committee
Current Openings
Seven (7) terms are open on the Diversity Committee. The committee holds terms of two years with an expiration of June 30, 2024.
Responsibilities
The purpose of the committee shall be to cause and encourage cultural awareness, to affirm the strength and value of diversity in the Township, to promote and recognize those factors that bind its citizens together, to promote cultural diversity projects which may include but are not limited to such activities as brochures, pamphlets, festivals, and others.

Downtown Development Authority
Current Openings
Six (6) terms are open on the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). The Authority holds terms of four years. Five terms expire on January 5, 2024, and one expires on January 5, 2026. Applicants must reside or own a business within the district lines (see map below).
Responsibilities
DDA meetings are scheduled on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:30 a.m. in Room 200 at the Clinton Township Civic Center, 40700 Romeo Plank Rd. The DDA was created under Act 197 and is a public corporate body under Township authority. The Authority may adopt a seal, sue, and be sued in any court of this State. It shall possess all the power necessary to carry out the purpose of its incorporation as provided by Act 197 and Ordinance 338.

Economic Development Corporation
Current Openings
Four (4) terms are open on the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) – two partial terms and two full terms. The committee holds terms of six years. Two full terms expire on July 10, 2029, one partial term expires on July 10, 2027, and one partial term will expire on July 10, 2028.
Responsibilities
The purpose of the EDC is to encourage economic growth and development in the community, particularly industrial-based. It is also to review tax exemptions for industrial businesses. The EDC meets, as necessary, on the second Tuesday of the month, 7:30 a.m., at the Township Civic Center or as posted.

Historical Commission
Current Openings
Three (3) terms are open on the Historical Commission. The Historical Commission holds terms of two years. The 3 partial terms expire on June 30, 2024.
Responsibilities
The Commission is responsible for the general administration of the Township's historical site and other historical properties. It acquires, collects, and exhibits in the name of the Township all necessary historical documents, materials, equipment, and other things necessary to effectively operate the Township's historical sites. The Commission meets on the fourth Monday of the month, 6:00 p.m., at the Clinton Macomb Public Library Local History Room.

Inclusive Playground Committee
Current Openings
Two (2) terms are open on the Inclusive Playground Committee (IPC) - (1) partial term and (1) full term. The partial term expires June 30, 2024, and the expiration date for the full term is June 30, 2025. IPC members hold terms of two (2) years. Applicants should either reside in Clinton Township or work for an organization with a physical presence in the Township that serves persons with disabilities.
Responsibilities
The purpose of the IPC is to create and mobilize a community-wide effort to promote the creation of an Inclusive Playground Committee (IPC) accessible to children, caregivers, and persons of all physical abilities. Further, the IPC is responsible for developing research, outreach, design, and building plans. The IPC will bring plans and recommendations to the Township Board and relevant departments.

Prince Drewry Park Advisory Committee
Current Openings
Six (6) terms are open on the Prince Drewry Park Advisory Committee. The terms are for two years and will expire on June 30, 2025.
Responsibilities
The purpose of the Committee is to investigate, analyze, and recommend capital improvement projects and other related park improvements to enhance the park’s features and provide for park utilization by the public, improving the well-being of persons living in areas surrounding the park and the public at large.
